வேற்றினத்தாரும் படைகளின் ஆண்டவரை நாடவும் அவரது அருளை மன்றாடவும் எருசலேமுக்கு வருவார்கள்.

இறைவாக்கினர் செக்கரியா நூலிலிருந்து வாசகம் 8: 20-23

படைகளின் ஆண்டவர் கூறுகிறார்: மக்களினங்களுள் பல நகர்களில் குடியிருப்போரும் கூட வருவார்கள். ஒரு நகரில் குடியிருப்போர் மற்றொரு நகரினரிடம் சென்று, “நாம் ஆண்டவரது அருளை மன்றாடவும் படைகளின் ஆண்டவரை வழிபடவும், தேடவும், நாடவும் விரைந்து செல்வோம், வாருங்கள்; நாங்களும் வருகிறோம்” என்று சொல்வார்கள். மக்களினங்கள் பலவும் வலிமை வாய்ந்த வேற்றினத்தாரும் படைகளின் ஆண்டவரை நாடவும் அவரது அருளை மன்றாடவும் எருசலேமுக்கு வருவார்கள்.

படைகளின் ஆண்டவர் கூறுவது இதுவே: “அந்நாள்களில் ஒவ்வொரு மொழி பேசும் வேற்றினத்தாரிலும் பத்துப் பேர் மேலாடையைப் பற்றிக் கொண்டு, ‘கடவுள் உங்களோடு இருக்கின்றார்’ என்று நாங்கள் கேள்விப்பட்டதால் நாங்களும் உங்களோடு வருகிறோம் என்பார்கள்.”

As the time drew near for him to be taken up to heaven, Jesus resolutely took the road for Jerusalem and sent messengers ahead of him. These set out, and they went into a Samaritan village to make preparations for him, but the people would not receive him because he was making for Jerusalem. Seeing this, the disciples James and John said, ‘Lord, do you want us to call down fire from heaven to burn them up?’ But he turned and rebuked them, and they went off to another village.

Hosts.

A Reading from the Book of  Zechariah 8: 20-23.

The Lord of Hosts says this:

  ‘There will be other peoples yet, and citizens of great cities. And the inhabitants of one city will go to the next and say, “Come, let us go and entreat the favour of the Lord, and seek the Lord of Hosts; I am going myself.” And many peoples and great nations will come to seek the Lord of Hosts in Jerusalem and to entreat the favour of the Lord.’

  The Lord of Hosts says this:

  ‘In those days, ten men of nations of every language will take a Jew by the sleeve and say, “We want to go with you, since we have learnt that God is with you.”’

அக்காலத்தில்

தங்களுக்குள் பெரியவர் யார் என்ற விவாதம் சீடர்களிடையே எழுந்தது. இயேசு அவர்களின் எண்ணங்களை அறிந்து ஒரு சிறுபிள்ளையை எடுத்து, தம் அருகே நிறுத்தி, அவர்களிடம், “இச்சிறு பிள்ளையை என் பெயரால் ஏற்றுக்கொள்பவர் எவரும் என்னையே ஏற்றுக்கொள்கிறார். என்னை ஏற்றுக்கொள்பவர் என்னை அனுப்பினவரையே ஏற்றுக்கொள்கிறார். உங்கள் எல்லாரிலும் சிறியவரே பெரியவர் ஆவார்” என்றார்.

யோவான் இயேசுவைப் பார்த்து, “ஆண்டவரே, ஒருவர் உமது பெயரால் பேய் ஓட்டுவதைக் கண்டு, நாங்கள் அவரைத் தடுக்கப்பார்த்தோம்; ஏனெனில் அவர் நம்மைச் சாராதவர்” என்றார்.

இயேசு அவரை நோக்கி, “தடுக்க வேண்டாம்; ஏனெனில் நமக்கு எதிராக இராதவர் நம் சார்பாக இருக்கிறார்” என்றார்.

அந்நாள்களில்

படைகளின் ஆண்டவரது வாக்கு மீண்டும் எனக்கு அருளப்பட்டது: படைகளின் ஆண்டவர் கூறுவது இதுவே: “சீயோன்மீதுள்ள அன்பு வெறியால் நான் கனன்றுகொண்டிருக்கின்றேன்; அதன்மீதுள்ள அன்புவெறியால் நான் சினமுற்றிருக்கின்றேன்."

ஆண்டவர் கூறுவது இதுவே: “சீயோனுக்கு நான் திரும்பி வரப்போகிறேன்; எருசலேம் நடுவில் குடியிருக்கப் போகிறேன்; எருசலேம் ‘உண்மையுள்ள நகர்’ என்றும், படைகளின் ஆண்டவரது மலை ‘திருமலை’ என்றும் பெயர்பெற்று விளங்கும்."

படைகளின் ஆண்டவர் கூறுவது இதுவே: “எருசலேமின் தெருக்களில் கிழவரும் கிழவியரும் மீண்டும் அமர்ந்திருப்பார்கள்; வயது முதிர்ந்தவர்களானதால் ஒவ்வொருவரும் தம் கையில் கோல் வைத்திருப்பார்கள்; நகரின் தெருக்களில் சிறுவரும் சிறுமியரும் நிறைந்திருப்பார்கள்; அவர்கள் அதன் தெருக்களில் விளையாடிக் கொண்டிருப்பார்கள்."

படைகளின் ஆண்டவர் கூறுவது இதுவே: “இம்மக்களில் எஞ்சியிருப் போரின் கண்களுக்கு இவையெல்லாம் அந்நாள்களில் விந்தையாய்த் தோன்றினாலும், என் கண்களுக்கு விந்தையாய்த் தோன்றுமோ?” என்கிறார் படைகளின் ஆண்டவர்.

படைகளின் ஆண்டவர் கூறுவது இதுவே: “இதோ, கீழ்த்திசை நாட்டினின்றும் மேற்றிசை நாட்டினின்றும் என் மக்களை விடுவிப்பேன்; அவர்களை அழைத்துக்கொண்டு வருவேன்; அவர்கள் எருசலேமில் குடியிருப்பார்கள்; அவர்கள் என் மக்களாய் இருப்பார்கள்; உண்மையிலும் நீதியிலும் நான் அவர்களுக்குக் கடவுளாய் இருப்பேன்.”

At this time

    a discussion arose among the disciples as

to who among them was the greatest.

    But Jesus, knowing what discussion was occupying their hearts,

took a child, placed him next to him

    and said to them:

“Whoever welcomes this child in my name

welcomes me.

And the one who

welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me.

Indeed, the smallest of you all,

it is he who is great. " 

    John, one of the Twelve, said to Jesus,

“Master, we have seen someone

cast out demons in your name;

we have prevented him from doing so,

because he does not follow you with us. "

    Jesus answered him:

" Do not prevent him: he

who is not against you is for you. " 

            - Let us acclaim the Word of God.

A Reading from the Book of Zechariah 8:1-8 

The word of the Lord of Hosts was addressed to me as follows:

‘The Lord of Hosts says this.

I am burning with jealousy for Zion,

with great anger for her sake.

‘The Lord of Hosts says this.

I am coming back to Zion

and shall dwell in the middle of Jerusalem.

Jerusalem will be called Faithful City

and the mountain of the Lord of Hosts, the Holy Mountain.

‘The Lord of Hosts says this.

Old men and old women will again sit down

in the squares of Jerusalem;

every one of them staff in hand

because of their great age.

And the squares of the city will be full

of boys and girls

playing in the squares.

‘The Lord of Hosts says this.

If this seems a miracle

to the remnant of this people (in those days),

will it seem one to me?

It is the Lord of Hosts who speaks.

‘The Lord of Hosts says this.

Now I am going to save my people

from the countries of the East

and from the countries of the West.

I will bring them back

to live inside Jerusalem.

They shall be my people

and I will be their God

in faithfulness and integrity.’
