திபா 122: 1-2. 4-5. 6-7. 8-9 (பல்லவி: 1) 

பல்லவி: அகமகிழ்வோடு ஆண்டவரது இல்லத்திற்குப் போவோம்.

1. ‘ஆண்டவரது இல்லத்திற்குப் போவோம்’ என்ற அழைப்பை நான் கேட்டபோது அகமகிழ்ந்தேன். 

2. எருசலேமே! இதோ, நாங்கள் அடியெடுத்து வைத்து உன் வாயில்களில் நிற்கின்றோம். - பல்லவி 

4. ஆண்டவரின் திருக்குலத்தார் அங்கே செல்கின்றனர்; இஸ்ரயேல் மக்களுக்கு இட்ட கட்டளைக்களுக்கிணங்க ஆண்டவரது பெயருக்கு அவர்கள் நன்றி செலுத்தச் செல்வார்கள். 

5. அங்கே நீதி வழங்க அரியணைகள் இருக்கின்றன. அவை தாவீது வீட்டாரின் அரியணைகள். - பல்லவி 

6. எருசலேமில் சமாதானம் நிலைத்திருக்கும்படி வேண்டிக்கொள்ளுங்கள்; “உன்னை விரும்புவோர் வளமுடன் வாழ்வார்களாக! 

7. உன் கோட்டைகளுக்குள் அமைதி நிலவுவதாக! உம் மாளிகைகளில் நல்வாழ்வு இருப்பதாக!” - பல்லவி 

8. “உன்னுள் சமாதானம் நிலவுவதாக!” என்று நான் என் சகோதரர் சார்பிலும் என் நண்பர் சார்பிலும் உன்னை வாழ்த்துகின்றேன். 

9. நம் கடவுளாகிய ஆண்டவரின் இல்லம் இங்கே இருப்பதால், உன்னில் நலம் பெருகும்படி நான் மன்றாடுவேன். - பல்லவி

இறையரசின் முடிவில்லா அமைதியில் நாடுகள் அனைத்தையும் ஆண்டவர் ஒன்றுசேர்க்கிறார்.

யூதாவையும் எருசலேமையும் குறித்து ஆமோட்சின் மகன் எசாயா கண்ட காட்சி: 

இறுதி நாள்களில் ஆண்டவரின் கோவில் அமைந்துள்ள மலை எல்லா மலைகளுக்குள்ளும் உயர்ந்ததாய் நிலைநிறுத்தப்படும்; எல்லாக் குன்றுகளுக்குள்ளும் மேலாய் உயர்த்தப்படும்; மக்களினங்கள் அதை நோக்கிச் சாரை சாரையாய் வருவார்கள். 

வேற்றினத்தார் பலர் அங்கு வந்து சேர்ந்து, ‘புறப்படுங்கள் ஆண்டவரின் மலைக்குச் செல்வோம்; யாக்கோபின் கடவுளின் கோவிலுக்குப் போவோம்; அவர் தம் வழிகளை நமக்குக் கற்பிப்பார்; நாமும் அவர் நெறிகளில் நடப்போம்’ என்பார்கள். ஏனெனில், சீயோனிலிருந்தே திருச்சட்டம் வெளிவரும்; எருசலேமிலிருந்தே ஆண்டவரின் திருவாக்கு புறப்படும். 

அவர் வேற்றினத்தாரிடையே உள்ள வழக்குகளைத் தீர்த்து வைப்பார்; பல இன மக்களுக்கும் தீர்ப்பளிப்பார்; அவர்கள் தங்கள் வாள்களைக் கலப்பைக் கொழுக்களாகவும், தங்கள் ஈட்டிகளைக் கருக்கு அரிவாள்களாகவும் அடித்துக்கொள்வார்கள், ஓர் இனத்திற்கு எதிராக மற்றோர் இனம் வாள் எடுக்காது; அவர்கள் இனி ஒருபோதும் போர்ப்பயிற்சி பெறமாட்டார்கள். யாக்கோபின் குடும்பத்தாரே, வாருங்கள் நாம் ஆண்டவரின் ஒளியில் நடப்போம்.

"Many will come from the east and the west and will take their place at the feast of the kingdom of Heaven" 

Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 8, 5-11 

At that time,

as Jesus had entered Capernaum,

a centurion approached him and begged him:

“Lord, my servant is lying at home, paralyzed,

and he is in terrible pain. "

Jesus said to him:

" I will go and heal him myself. "

The centurion replied,

" Lord, I am not worthy

to have you come under my roof,

but only say the word

and my servant will be healed.

I myself, who am subject to an authority,

have soldiers under my orders;

to one, I say: “Go”, and he goes;

to another: “Come”, and he comes,

and to my slave: “Do this”, and he does it. "

At this, Jesus was amazed

and said to those who followed him,

"Truly, I tell you,

with no one in Israel I have found such faith."

So I say to you:

Many will come from the east and the west

and will take their places with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob

at the feast of the kingdom of Heaven. "

The Lord gathers all nations together into the eternal peace of God's kingdom

A Reading from the Book of Isaiah 2: 1 -5.

The vision of Isaiah son of Amoz, concerning Judah and Jerusalem.

In the days to come

the mountain of the Temple of the Lord

shall tower above the mountains

and be lifted higher than the hills.

All the nations will stream to it,

peoples without number will come to it; and they will say:

  ‘Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,

  to the Temple of the God of Jacob

  that he may teach us his ways

  so that we may walk in his paths;

  since the Law will go out from Zion,

  and the oracle of the Lord from Jerusalem.’

He will wield authority over the nations

and adjudicate between many peoples;

these will hammer their swords into ploughshares,

their spears into sickles.

Nation will not lift sword against nation,

there will be no more training for war.

O House of Jacob, come,

let us walk in the light of the Lord.

அக்காலத்தில்

மானிடமகன் வருகையைப்பற்றி இயேசு தம் சீடர்களுக்குக் கூறியது: “கதிரவனிலும் நிலாவிலும் விண்மீன்களிலும் அடையாளங்கள் தென்படும். மண்ணுலகில் மக்களினங்கள் கடலின் கொந்தளிப்பின் முழக்கத்தினால் கலங்கி, என்ன செய்வதென்று தெரியாது குழப்பம் அடைவார்கள். உலகிற்கு என்ன நேருமோ என எண்ணி மனிதர் அச்சத்தினால் மயக்கமுறுவர். ஏனெனில், வான்வெளிக் கோள்கள் அதிரும். அப்போது மிகுந்த வல்லமையோடும் மாட்சியோடும் மானிடமகன் மேகங்கள் மீது வருவதை அவர்கள் காண்பார்கள். இவை நிகழத் தொடங்கும்போது, நீங்கள் தலைநிமிர்ந்து நில்லுங்கள்; ஏனெனில் உங்கள் மீட்பு நெருங்கி வருகின்றது.”

மேலும் இயேசு, “உங்கள் உள்ளங்கள் குடிவெறி, களியாட்டத்தாலும் இவ்வுலக வாழ்க்கைக்குரிய கவலையினாலும் மந்தம் அடையாதவாறும் அந்நாள் திடீரென வந்து ஒரு கண்ணியைப்போல் உங்களைச் சிக்க வைக்காதவாறும் எச்சரிக்கையாய் இருங்கள். மண்ணுலகு எங்கும் குடியிருக்கும் எல்லார்மீதும் அந்நாள் வந்தே தீரும். ஆகையால் நிகழப்போகும் அனைத்திலிருந்தும் தப்புவதற்கும் மானிடமகன் முன்னிலையில் நிற்க வல்லவராவதற்கும் எப்பொழுதும் விழிப்பாயிருந்து மன்றாடுங்கள்” என்றார்.

உங்கள் மீது நாங்கள் கொண்ட அன்பு வளர்ந்து பெருகுவதுபோல, நீங்கள் ஒருவர் ஒருவருக்காகவும் எல்லாருக்காகவும் கொண்டுள்ள அன்பையும் ஆண்டவர் வளர்த்துப் பெருகச் செய்வாராக! இவ்வாறு நம் ஆண்டவர் இயேசு தம்முடைய தூயோர் அனைவரோடும் வரும்பொழுது, நம் தந்தையாம் கடவுள்முன் நீங்கள் குற்றமின்றித் தூய்மையாக இருக்குமாறு அவர் உங்கள் உள்ளங்களை உறுதிப்படுத்துவாராக!

சகோதர சகோதரிகளே! நீங்கள் கடவுளுக்கு உகந்தவர்களாய் வாழும் முறையை எங்களிடம் கற்றுக் கொண்டீர்கள்; அப்படியே வாழ்ந்தும் வருகிறீர்கள். இதில் இன்னும் முன்னேற வேண்டுமென ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசுவின் பெயரால் உங்களிடம் இறுதியாகக் கேட்டுக் கொள்கிறோம். ஆண்டவராகிய இயேசுவின் பெயரால் நாங்கள் உங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்த கட்டளைகளை நீங்கள் அறிவீர்கள்.

A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to St. Luke 21:25-28,34-36 

Jesus said to his disciples: ‘There will be signs in the sun and moon and stars; on earth nations in agony, bewildered by the clamour of the ocean and its waves; men dying of fear as they await what menaces the world, for the powers of heaven will be shaken. And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand erect, hold your heads high, because your liberation is near at hand.

  ‘Watch yourselves, or your hearts will be coarsened with debauchery and drunkenness and the cares of life, and that day will be sprung on you suddenly, like a trap. For it will come down on every living man on the face of the earth. Stay awake, praying at all times for the strength to survive all that is going to happen, and to stand with confidence before the Son of Man.’
