ஆண்டவரின் ஆவி அவர்மேல் தங்கியிருக்கும்.

இறைவாக்கினர் எசாயா நூலிலிருந்து வாசகம் 11: 1-10

ஆண்டவருக்குரிய நாளில்

ஈசாய் என்னும் அடிமரத்திலிருந்து தளிர் ஒன்று துளிர்விடும்; அதன் வேர்களிலிருந்து கிளை ஒன்று வளர்ந்து கனிதரும். ஆண்டவரின் ஆவி அவர்மேல் தங்கியிருக்கும்; ஞானம், மெய்யுணர்வு, அறிவுரைத்திறன், ஆற்றல், நுண்மதி, ஆண்டவரைப்பற்றிய அச்ச உணர்வு — இவற்றை அந்த ஆவி அவருக்கு அருளும். அவரும் ஆண்டவருக்கு அஞ்சி நடப்பதில் மகிழ்ந்திருப்பார்.

கண் கண்டதைக் கொண்டு மட்டும் அவர் நீதி வழங்கார்; காதால் கேட்டதைக் கொண்டு மட்டும் அவர் தீர்ப்புச் செய்யார்; நேர்மையோடு ஏழைகளுக்கு நீதி வழங்குவார்; நடுநிலையோடு நாட்டின் எளியோரது வழக்கை விசாரிப்பார்; வார்த்தை எனும் கோலினால் கொடியவரை அடிப்பார்; உதட்டில் எழும் மூச்சினால் தீயோரை அழிப்பார். நேர்மை அவருக்கு அரைக்கச்சை; உண்மை அவருக்கு இடைக்கச்சை.

அந்நாளில், ஓநாய் செம்மறியாட்டுக் குட்டியோடு தங்கியிருக்கும்; அக்குட்டியோடு சிறுத்தைப் புலி படுத்துக் கொள்ளும். கன்றும், சிங்கக்குட்டியும், கொழுத்த காளையும் கூடி வாழும்; பச்சிளம் குழந்தை அவற்றை நடத்திச் செல்லும். பசுவும் கரடியும் ஒன்றாய் மேயும்; அவற்றின் குட்டிகள் சேர்ந்து படுத்துக்கிடக்கும்; சிங்கம் மாட்டைப் போல் வைக்கோல் தின்னும்; பால் குடிக்கும் குழந்தை விரியன் பாம்பின் வளையில் விளையாடும்; பால்குடி மறந்த பிள்ளை கட்டுவிரியன் வளையினுள் தன் கையை விடும். என் திருமலை முழுவதிலும் தீமை செய்வார் எவருமில்லை; கேடு விளைவிப்பார் யாருமில்லை; ஏனெனில், கடல் தண்ணீரால் நிறைந்திருக்கிறது போல, மண்ணுலகம் ஆண்டவராம் என்னைப் பற்றிய அறிவால் நிறைந்திருக்கும்.

அந்நாளில், மக்களினங்களுக்குச் சின்னமாய் விளங்கும் ஈசாயின் வேரைப் பிற இனத்தார் தேடி வருவார்கள்; அவர் இளைப்பாறும் இடம் மாட்சி நிறைந்ததாக இருக்கும்.

At that hour: Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, or who the Father is except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.” Then turning to the disciples he said privately, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see! For I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.”

A reading from the book of the prophet Isaiah 11:1-10 

On that day: There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit. And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord. And his delight shall be in the fear of the Lord. He shall not judge by what his eyes see,

or decide disputes by what his ears hear, but with righteousness he shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth; and he shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall kill the wicked. Righteousness shall be the belt of his waist, and faithfulness the belt of his loins. The wolf shall dwell with the lamb,

அக்காலத்தில்

இயேசு கப்பர்நாகுமுக்குச் சென்றபோது நூற்றுவர் தலைவர் ஒருவர் அவரிடம் உதவி வேண்டி வந்தார். “ஐயா, என் பையன் முடக்குவாதத்தால் மிகுந்த வேதனையுடன் படுத்துக் கிடக்கிறான்” என்றார். இயேசு அவரிடம், “நான் வந்து அவனைக் குணமாக்குவேன்” என்றார். நூற்றுவர் தலைவர் மறுமொழியாக, “ஐயா, நீர் என் வீட்டிற்குள் அடியெடுத்து வைக்க நான் தகுதியற்றவன். ஆனால் ஒரு வார்த்தை மட்டும் சொல்லும்; என் பையன் நலமடைவான். நான் அதிகாரத்துக்கு உட்பட்டவன். என் அதிகாரத்துக்கு உட்பட்ட படைவீரரும் உள்ளனர். நான் அவர்களுள் ஒருவரிடம் ‘செல்க’ என்றால் அவர் செல்கிறார். வேறு ஒருவரிடம் ‘வருக’ என்றால் அவர் வருகிறார். என் பணியாளரைப் பார்த்து ‘இதைச் செய்க’ என்றால் அவர் செய்கிறார்” என்றார்.

இதைக் கேட்டு இயேசு வியந்து, தம்மைப் பின்தொடர்ந்து வந்தவர்களை நோக்கி, “உறுதியாக உங்களுக்குச் சொல்கிறேன்; இஸ்ரயேலர் யாரிடமும் இத்தகைய நம்பிக்கையை நான் கண்டதில்லை. கிழக்கிலும் மேற்கிலுமிருந்து பலர் வந்து, ஆபிரகாம், ஈசாக்கு, யாக்கோபு ஆகியோருடன் விண்ணரசின் பந்தியில் அமர்வர்.” என்றார்

எருசலேமில் சமாதானம் நிலைத்திருக்கும்படி வேண்டிக்கொள்ளுங்கள்; “உன்னை விரும்புவோர் வளமுடன் வாழ்வார்களாக!

உன் கோட்டைகளுக்குள் அமைதி நிலவுவதாக! உம் மாளிகைகளில் நல்வாழ்வு இருப்பதாக!” - பல்லவி

A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to St.Matthew 8:5-11 

At that time: When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came forward to him, appealing to him, “Lord, my servant is lying paralysed at home, suffering terribly.” And he said to him, “I will come and heal him.” But the centurion replied, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof, but only say the word, and my servant will be healed. For I too am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. And I say to one, ‘Go’, and he goes, and to another, ‘Come’, and he comes, and to my servant, ‘Do this’, and he does it.” When Jesus heard this, he marvelled and said to those who followed him, “Truly, I tell you, with no one in Israel have I found such faith. I tell you, many will come from east and west and recline at table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.”

The fruit of the earth shall be the pride and adornment of Israel's survivors

A Reading from the Book of the prophet Isaiah 4: 2-6 

In that day the branch of the Lord shall be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the land shall be the pride and honour of the survivors of Israel. And he who is left in Sion and remains in Jerusalem will be called holy, everyone who has been recorded for life in Jerusalem, when the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Sion and cleansed the bloodstains of Jerusalem from its midst by a spirit of judgment and by a spirit of burning. Then the Lord will create over the whole site of Mount Sion and over her assemblies a cloud by day, and smoke and the shining of a flaming fire by night; for over all the glory there will be a canopy. There will be a booth for shade by day from the heat, and for a refuge and a shelter from the storm and rain.
