மோசே மக்களைப் பார்த்துக் கூறியது: இப்பொழுது இஸ்ரயேலரே! கேளுங்கள்; நான் உங்களுக்குக் கற்றுத்தரும் நியமங்கள், முறைமைகளின்படி ஒழுகுங்கள். அதனால் நீங்கள் வாழ்ந்து, உங்கள் மூதாதையரின் கடவுளாகிய ஆண்டவர் உங்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கும் நாட்டுக்குச் சென்று அதை உரிமையாக்குவீர்கள்.

நம் கடவுளாகிய ஆண்டவரின் கட்டளைப்படியே நியமங்களையும் முறைமைகளையும் உங்களுக்குக் கற்றுத் தருகிறேன். எனவே, நீங்கள் போய் உரிமையாக்கிக்கொள்ளும் நாட்டில் அவற்றைப் பின்பற்ற வேண்டும். நீங்கள் அவற்றைப் பின்பற்றி நடங்கள். அதுவே மக்களினங்கள் முன்னிலையில் உங்கள் ஞானமும் அறிவாற்றலுமாய் விளங்கும். இந்த நியமங்களைக் கேள்வியுறும் அனைவரும், உண்மையில் இப்பேரினம் ஞானமும் அறிவாற்றலும் கொண்ட மக்களால் ஆனது என்பர்.

நாம் குரல் எழுப்பும்போதெல்லாம் நம் கடவுளாகிய ஆண்டவர் நம்மோடு உள்ளார். அவரைப்போல், மக்களுக்கு மிகவும் நெருங்கிய கடவுளைக் கொண்ட வேறு பேரினம் ஏதாகிலும் உண்டா? நான் இன்று நேர்மைமிகு சட்டங்களை உங்களுக்குத் தந்துள்ளேன். இவற்றைப் போன்ற நியமங்களையும் முறைமைகளையும் கொண்ட வேறு பேரினம் ஏதாகிலும் உண்டா?

கவனமாய் இருங்கள்; உங்கள் கண்களால் நீங்கள் கண்ட அனைத்தையும் மறந்துபோகாதபடி உங்கள் இதயங்களில் காத்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள். உங்கள் வாழ்நாள் முழுமையும் நீங்கள் அவற்றை மறக்க வேண்டாம். உங்கள் பிள்ளைகளுக்கும், பேரப் பிள்ளைகளுக்கும் அவற்றை எடுத்துக் கூறுங்கள்.

Moses was saying to the people, “Now, Israel, listen to the decrees and ordinances that I am teaching you so that you may put them into practice. So you will live, you will enter to take possession of it in the land which the Lord, the God of your fathers, has given you. See, I am teaching you the decrees and ordinances that the Lord my God has given me for you, so that you may put them into practice in the land where you are going to enter to take possession of them. You will keep them, you will put them into practice; they will be your wisdom and intelligence in the eyes of all peoples. When they hear about all these decrees, they will cry out: “There is not a wise and intelligent people like this great nation! What is indeed the great nation whose gods are as near as the Lord our God is near to us every time we call upon him? மத்தேயு எழுதிய நற்செய்தியிலிருந்து வாசகம் 18: 21-35

அக்காலத்தில்

பேதுரு இயேசுவை அணுகி, “ஆண்டவரே, என் சகோதரர் சகோதரிகளுள் ஒருவர் எனக்கு எதிராகப் பாவம் செய்துவந்தால் நான் எத்தனை முறை அவரை மன்னிக்க வேண்டும்? ஏழு முறை மட்டுமா?” எனக் கேட்டார். அதற்கு இயேசு அவரிடம் கூறியது: “ஏழுமுறை மட்டுமல்ல; எழுபது தடவை ஏழுமுறை என நான் உனக்குச் சொல்கிறேன்.

விண்ணரசைப் பின்வரும் நிகழ்ச்சிக்கு ஒப்பிடலாம்; ஓர் அரசர் தம் பணியாளர்களிடம் கணக்குக் கேட்க விரும்பினார். அவர் கணக்குப் பார்க்கத் தொடங்கியபொழுது, அவரிடம் பத்தாயிரம் தாலந்து கடன்பட்ட ஒருவனைக் கொண்டு வந்தனர். அவன் பணத்தைத் திருப்பிக் கொடுக்க இயலாத நிலையில் இருந்தான். தலைவரோ, அவனையும் அவன் மனைவி மக்களோடு அவனுக்குரிய உடைமைகள் யாவற்றையும் விற்றுப் பணத்தைத் திருப்பி அடைக்க ஆணையிட்டார். உடனே அப்பணியாள் அவர் காலில் விழுந்து பணிந்து, ‘என்னைப் பொறுத்தருள்க; எல்லாவற்றையும் உமக்குத் திருப்பித் தந்துவிடுகிறேன்’ என்றான். அப்பணியாளின் தலைவர் பரிவு கொண்டு அவனை விடுவித்து அவனது கடன் முழுவதையும் தள்ளுபடி செய்தார்.

ஆனால் அப்பணியாள் வெளியே சென்றதும், தன்னிடம் நூறு தெனாரியம் கடன்பட்டிருந்த உடன்பணியாளர் ஒருவரைக் கண்டு, ‘நீ பட்ட கடனைத் திருப்பித் தா’ எனக் கூறி அவரைப் பிடித்துக் கழுத்தை நெரித்தான். உடனே அவனுடைய உடன்பணியாளர் காலில் விழுந்து, ‘என்னைப் பொறுத்தருள்க; நான் திருப்பிக் கொடுத்துவிடுகிறேன்’ என்று அவனைக் கெஞ்சிக் கேட்டார். ஆனால் அவன் அதற்கு இசையாது, கடனைத் திருப்பி அடைக்கும்வரை அவரைச் சிறையில் அடைத்தான்.

அவருடைய உடன்பணியாளர்கள் நடந்ததைக் கண்டபோது மிகவும் வருந்தித் தலைவரிடம் போய் நடந்தவற்றை எல்லாம் விளக்கிக் கூறினார்கள். அப்போது தலைவர் அவனை வரவழைத்து, ‘பொல்லாதவனே, நீ என்னை வேண்டிக்கொண்டதால் அந்தக் கடன் முழுவதையும் உனக்குத் தள்ளுபடி செய்தேன். நான் உனக்கு இரக்கம் காட்டியதுபோல நீயும் உன் உடன்பணியாளருக்கு இரக்கம் காட்டியிருக்க வேண்டும் அல்லவா?’ என்று கேட்டார். அத்தலைவர் சினங் கொண்டவராய், அனைத்துக் கடனையும் அவன் அடைக்கும்வரை அவனை வதைப்போரிடம் ஒப்படைத்தார்.

உங்களுள் ஒவ்வொருவரும் தம் சகோதரர் சகோதரிகளை மனமார மன்னிக்காவிட்டால் விண்ணுலகில் இருக்கும் என் தந்தையும் உங்களை மன்னிக்கமாட்டார்.”
