I saw the water that gushed out of the Temple: all those it touched were saved 

Reading from the book of the prophet Ezekiel (47, 1-9.12) 

In those days, during a vision received from the Lord, the man brought me back to the entrance of the House, and behold, under the threshold of the House water was gushing towards the east, since the facade of the House was on the east side.

The water was coming down from under the right side of the House, south of the altar. The man took me out the north door and walked me around the outside, to the east door, and again the water was flowing on the right side. The man went eastward, a line in his hand, and he measured a distance of a thousand cubits; then he made me cross the water: I was up to my ankles. He measured another thousand cubits and made me cross the water: I was up to my knees. He measured another thousand cubits and took me across: I was up to my kidneys. He measured a thousand more: it was a torrent that I could not cross; the water had swelled, it would have been necessary to swim: it was an impassable torrent. So he said to me: "Have you seen, son of man? Then he led me back to the edge of the stream. When he brought me back

He said to me: “This water flows towards the region of the East, it goes down into the Jordan Valley, and flows into the Dead Sea, whose waters it cleanses. In any place where the torrent arrives, all the animals will be able to live and flourish. The fish will be very abundant, for this water cleanses everything it enters, and life appears wherever the torrent arrives. At the edge of the torrent, on both banks, all kinds of fruit trees will grow; their foliage will not wither and their fruit will not fail. Each month they will bear new fruit, for this water comes from the sanctuary. The fruits will be food, and the leaves will be medicine. "

அக்காலத்தில்

இயேசு சமாரியாவிலிருந்து கலிலேயாவுக்குச் சென்றார். தம் சொந்த ஊரில் இறைவாக்கினருக்கு மதிப்பு இராது என்று அவரே கூறியிருந்தார். அவர் கலிலேயா வந்தபோது கலிலேயர் அவரை வரவேற்றனர். ஏனெனில் அவர்கள் திருவிழாவுக்குச் சென்றிருந்தபோது எருசலேமில் அவர் செய்தவை அனைத்தையும் கண்டிருந்தனர்.

கலிலேயாவில் உள்ள கானாவுக்கு இயேசு மீண்டும் சென்றார். அங்கேதான் அவர் தண்ணீரைத் திராட்சை இரசம் ஆக்கியிருந்தார். கப்பர்நாகுமில் அரச அலுவலரின் மகன் ஒருவன் நோயுற்றிருந்தான். இயேசு யூதேயாவிலிருந்து கலிலேயாவுக்கு வந்திருப்பதாகக் கேள்விப்பட்ட அரச அலுவலர் அவரிடம் சென்று, சாகும் தறுவாயிலிருந்த தம் மகனை நலமாக்க வருமாறு வேண்டினார். இயேசு அவரை நோக்கி, “அடையாளங்களையும் அருஞ்செயல்களையும் கண்டாலன்றி நீங்கள் நம்பவே மாட்டீர்கள்” என்றார். அரச அலுவலர் இயேசுவிடம், “ஐயா, என் மகன் இறக்குமுன் வாரும்” என்றார். இயேசு அவரிடம், “நீர் புறப் பட்டுப்போம். உம் மகன் பிழைத்துக்கொள்வான்” என்றார். அவரும் இயேசு தம்மிடம் சொன்ன வார்த்தையை நம்பிப் புறப்பட்டுப் போனார்.

அவர் போய்க்கொண்டிருக்கும்போதே அவருடைய பணியாளர்கள் அவருக்கு எதிர்கொண்டுவந்து மகன் பிழைத்துக்கொண்டான் என்று கூறினார்கள். “எத்தனை மணிக்கு நோய் நீங்கியது?” என்று அவர் அவர்களிடம் வினவ, அவர்கள், “நேற்றுப் பிற்பகல் ஒரு மணிக்குக் காய்ச்சல் நீங்கியது” என்றார்கள். ‘உம் மகன் பிழைத்துக்கொள்வான்’ என்று இயேசு அந்நேரத்தில்தான் கூறினார் என்பதை அவன் தந்தை நினைவுகூர்ந்தார். அவரும் அவர் வீட்டார் அனைவரும் இயேசுவை நம்பினர்.

இயேசு யூதேயாவிலிருந்து கலிலேயாவுக்கு வந்தபிறகு செய்த இரண்டாவது அரும் அடையாளம் இதுவே.

Reading from the book of the prophet Isaiah (65, 17-21) 

Thus says the Lord: Yes, behold: I am going to create a new heaven and a new earth, the past will no longer be remembered, it will never come to mind. Rather be in joy, exult endlessly for what I am creating. For I am going to recreate Jerusalem, so that it may be exultation, and that its people may become joy. I will exult in Jerusalem, I will find my joy in my people. We won't hear any more weeping or screaming. There, no more infant carried away in a few days, nor any man who does not reach the end of his old age; the youngest will die a hundred years old, not reaching a hundred years will be a curse. We will build houses, we will live there; vines will be planted and their fruit will be eaten.

அக்காலத்தில்

இயேசு நிக்கதேமுக்குக் கூறியது: “பாலைநிலத்தில் மோசேயால் பாம்பு உயர்த்தப்பட்டதுபோல மானிடமகனும் உயர்த்தப்பட வேண்டும். அப்போது அவரிடம் நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளும் அனைவரும் நிலைவாழ்வு பெறுவர். தம் ஒரே மகன்மீது நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளும் எவரும் அழியாமல் நிலைவாழ்வு பெறும் பொருட்டு அந்த மகனையே அளிக்கும் அளவுக்குக் கடவுள் உலகின்மேல் அன்புகூர்ந்தார். உலகிற்குத் தண்டனைத் தீர்ப்பளிக்க அல்ல, தம் மகன் வழியாக அதை மீட்கவே கடவுள் அவரை உலகிற்கு அனுப்பினார். அவர்மீது நம்பிக்கை கொள்வோர் தண்டனைத் தீர்ப்புக்கு ஆளாவதில்லை; ஆனால் நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளாதோர் ஏற்கெனவே தீர்ப்புப் பெற்றுவிட்டனர்.

ஏனெனில் அவர்கள் கடவுளின் ஒரே மகனிடம் நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளவில்லை. ஒளி உலகிற்கு வந்திருந்தும் தம் செயல்கள் தீயனவாய் இருந்ததால் மனிதர் ஒளியைவிட இருளையே விரும்பினர். இதில்தான் அவர்களுக்கு எதிரான தண்டனைத் தீர்ப்பு அடங்கியுள்ளது. தீங்கு செய்யும் அனைவரும் ஒளியை வெறுக்கின்றனர். தங்கள் தீச்செயல்கள் வெளியாகிவிடும் என அஞ்சி அவர்கள் ஒளியிடம் வருவதில்லை. உண்மைக்கேற்ப வாழ்பவர்கள் ஒளியிடம் வருகிறார்கள். இதனால் அவர்கள் செய்யும் அனைத்தையும் கடவுளோடு இணைந்தே செய்கிறார்கள் என்பது வெளியாகும்.”

கடவுள் மிகுந்த இரக்கம் உடையவர். அவர் நம்மீது மிகுந்த அன்பு கொண்டுள்ளார். குற்றங்களின் காரணமாய் இறந்தவர்களாயிருந்த நாம் அவ்வன்பின் மூலம் இணைந்து உயிர் பெறச் செய்தார். நீங்கள் மீட்கப் பட்டிருப்பது அந்த அருளாலேயே. இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவோடு இணைந்த நிலையில் நாம் அவரோடு உயிர்த்தெழவும் விண்ணுலகில் அவரோடு அமரவும் செய்தார். கிறிஸ்து இயேசு வழியாகக் கடவுள் நமக்குச் செய்த நன்மையையும் அவரது ஒப்புயர்வற்ற அருள் வளத்தையும் இனி வரும் காலங்களிலும் எடுத்துக்காட்டுவதற்காகவே இவ்வாறு செய்தார்.

நீங்கள் அந்த அருளாலேயே நம்பிக்கையின் வழியாக மீட்கப் பட்டிருக்கிறீர்கள். இது உங்கள் செயல் அல்ல; மாறாக இது கடவுளின் கொடை. இது மனிதச் செயல்களால் ஆனது அல்ல. எனவே எவரும் பெருமை பாராட்ட இயலாது. ஏனெனில் நாம் கடவுளின் கைவேலைப்பாடு; நற்செயல்கள் புரிவதற்கென்றே கிறிஸ்து இயேசு வழியாய்ப் படைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறோம். இவ்வாறு நற்செயல்கள் புரிந்து வாழும்படி கடவுள் முன்கூட்டியே ஏற்பாடு செய்திருக்கிறார்.
