நான் கனிவும் மனத்தாழ்மையும் உடையவன்.

அக்காலத்தில்

இயேசு கூறியது: “பெருஞ்சுமை சுமந்து சோர்ந்திருப்பவர்களே, எல்லாரும் என்னிடம் வாருங்கள். நான் உங்களுக்கு இளைப்பாறுதல் தருவேன். நான் கனிவும் மனத் தாழ்மையும் உடையவன். ஆகவே என் நுகத்தை உங்கள்மேல் ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு என்னிடம் கற்றுக்கொள்ளுங்கள். அப்பொழுது உங்கள் உள்ளத்திற்கு இளைப்பாறுதல் கிடைக்கும். ஆம், என் நுகம் அழுத்தாது; என் சுமை எளிதாயுள்ளது” என்றார்.

ஆண்டவரே! நீர் என்றென்றும் கொலுவீற்றிருக்கின்றீர்; உமது புகழ் தலைமுறைதோறும் நிலைத்திருக்கும்.

நீர் எழுந்தருளி, சீயோனுக்கு இரக்கம் காட்டும்; இதோ! குறித்த காலம் வந்துவிட்டது.

அதன் கற்கள்மீது உம் ஊழியர் பற்றுக்கொண்டுள்ளனர்; அதன் அழிவை நினைத்துப் பரிதவிக்கின்றனர். - பல்லவி

வேற்றினத்தார் ஆண்டவரின் பெயருக்கு அஞ்சுவர்; பூவுலகின் மன்னர் யாவரும் அவரது மாட்சியைக் கண்டு மருள்வர்.

ஏனெனில் ஆண்டவர் சீயோனைக் கட்டியெழுப்புவார்; அங்கு அவர் தம் மாட்சியுடன் திகழ்வார்.

திக்கற்றவர்களின் வேண்டுதலுக்கு அவர் செவிகொடுப்பார்; அவர்களின் மன்றாட்டை அவமதியார். - பல்லவி

இனி வரவிருக்கும் தலைமுறைக்கென இது எழுதி வைக்கப்படட்டும்; படைக்கப்படவிருக்கும் மக்கள் ஆண்டவரைப் புகழட்டும்.

அவர் சிறைப்பட்டோரின் புலம்பலுக்குச் செவிசாய்ப்பார்; சாவுக்கெனக் குறிக்கப்பட்டவர்களை விடுவிப்பார்.

புழுதியில் வாழ்வோரே, விழித்தெழுந்து மகிழ்ந்து பாடுங்கள்.

நீதிமான்களின் நெறிகள் நேரியவை; நீர் நேர்மையாளரின் வழியைச் செம்மையாக்குகின்றீர். ஆண்டவரே, உமது நீதியின் நெறியில் நடந்து, உமக்காகக் காத்திருக்கிறோம், உமது திருப்பெயரும் உமது நினைவும் எங்களுக்கு இன்பமாய் உள்ளன.

என் நெஞ்சம் இரவில் உம்மை நாடுகின்றது; எனக்குள்ளிருக்கும் ஆவி ஏக்கத்தோடு உம்மைத் தேடுகின்றது; உம் நீதித்தீர்ப்புகள் நிலவுலகில் நிலைத்திருக்கையில் வாழ்வோர் நேர்மையைக் கற்றுக்கொள்வர்.

ஆண்டவரே, நிறைவாழ்வை நீர் எங்களுக்கு உரியதாக்குவீர்! ஏனெனில், எங்கள் செயல்கள் அனைத்தையும் எங்களுக்காகச் செய்கின்றவர் நீரே.

ஆண்டவரே, துயரத்தில் உம்மைத் தேடினோம்; நீர் எங்களைத் தண்டிக்கும்போது, உம்மை நோக்கி மன்றாடினோம். பேறுகாலம் நெருங்குகையில், கருவுற்றவள் தன் வேதனையில் வருந்திக் கதறுவதுபோல், ஆண்டவரே, நாங்களும் உம் முன்னிலையில் இருக்கின்றோம்! நாங்களும் கருவுற்று வேதனையில் துடித்தோம்; ஆனால், காற்றைப் பெற்றெடுத்தவர் போலானோம்; நாடு விடுதலை பெற, நாங்கள் எதையும் சாதிக்கவில்லை; உலகில் குடியிருக்க, எவரும் பிறக்கப் போவதில்லை.

At that time: Jesus declared, “Come to me, all who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

The path of the righteous is level; you make level the way of the righteous. In the path of your judgments, O Lord, we wait for you; your name and remembrance are the desire of our soul. My soul yearns for you in the night; my spirit within me earnestly seeks you. For when your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness. O Lord, you will ordain peace for us, for you have indeed done for us all our works. O Lord, in distress they sought you; they poured out a whispered prayer when your discipline was upon them. Like a pregnant woman who writhes and cries out in her pangs when she is near to giving birth, so were we because of you, O Lord; we were pregnant, we writhed, but we have given birth to wind. We have accomplished no deliverance in the earth, and the inhabitants of the world have not fallen. Your dead shall live; their bodies shall rise. You who dwell in the dust, awake and sing for joy! At that time Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”

A Reading from the Book of the Prophet Isaiah 10: 5-7,13-16

Thus says the Lord: Woe to Assyria, the rod of my anger; the staff in their hands is my fury! Against a godless nation I send him, and against the people of my wrath I commend him, to take spoil and seize plunder, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets. But he does not so intend, and his heart does not so think; but it is in his heart to destroy, and to cut off nations not a few; For he says: “By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom, for I have understanding; I remove the boundaries of peoples, and plunder their treasures; like a bull I bring down those who sit on thrones. My hand has found like a nest the wealth of the peoples; and as one gathers eggs that have been forsaken, so I have gathered all the earth; and there was none that moved a wing or opened the mouth or chirped.” Shall the axe boast over him who hews with it, or the saw magnify itself against him who wields it? As if a rod should wield him who lifts it, or as if a staff should lift him who is not wood! Therefore the Lord God of hosts will send wasting sickness among his stout warriors, and under his glory a burning will be kindled, like the burning of fire.

என் தந்தை எல்லாவற்றையும் என்னிடத்தில் ஒப்படைத்திருக்கிறார். தந்தையைத் தவிர வேறு எவரும் மகனை அறியார்; மகனும் அவர் யாருக்கு வெளிப்படுத்த வேண்டுமென்று விரும்புகிறாரோ அவருமன்றி வேறு எவரும் தந்தையை அறியார்” என்று கூறினார்.
