RESPONSORIAL
Respons: May my tongue attach to my palate if I lose your memory!
Psalm 136 (137)
By the rivers of Babylon we sat and wept,
remembering Zion; we had hung our harps
from the willows in the neighborhood
. R
It was there that our overcomers asked us for songs,
and our executioners for joyful tunes:
“Sing to us,” they said, “
some song of Zion. R
How would we sing a song of the Lord
in a foreign land?
If I forget you, Jerusalem,
may my right hand forget me! R
I want my tongue to stick to my palate
if I lose your memory,
if I do not raise Jerusalem
to the height of my joy. R
