I will sing for the Lord!

Shining is his glory:

he threw

horse and rider into the sea ! R 

My strength and my song is the Lord:

he is salvation for me.

He is my God, I celebrate him;

I exalt the God of my father. R 

The Lord is the warrior of battles;

his name is “The Lord”.

Pharaoh's chariots and his armies

he launches into the sea. R 

The elite of their leaders have sunk in the Red Sea.

The abyss covers them:

"The Egyptians will know that I am the Lord, when I will have glorified myself at the expense of Pharaoh" 

A Reading from the book of Exodus (14, 5-18) 

In those days it was announced to the king of Egypt that the people of Israel had fled. So Pharaoh and his servants changed their minds towards this people. They said, "What have we done by letting Israel go: it will no longer be in our service!" Pharaoh had his chariot harnessed and his troops assembled; he took six hundred chosen chariots and all the chariots of Egypt, each with his crew. The Lord made sure that Pharaoh, king of Egypt, persisted in pursuing the children of Israel, while they advanced freely. The Egyptians, all the horses, Pharaoh's chariots, his warriors and his army pursued and joined them as they encamped by the sea, near Pi-Hahiroth, opposite Baal-Sefone. , the children of Israel looked and, Seeing the Egyptians chasing them, they were very afraid, and they cried out to the Lord. அக்காலத்தில்

திருத்தூதர்கள் இயேசுவிடம் வந்து கூடித் தாங்கள் செய்தவை, கற்பித்தவையெல்லாம் அவருக்குத் தெரிவித்தார்கள். அவர் அவர்களிடம், “நீங்கள் பாலை நிலத்திலுள்ள தனிமையான ஓர் இடத்திற்குச் சென்று சற்று ஓய்வெடுங்கள்” என்றார். ஏனெனில் பலர் வருவதும் போவதுமாய் இருந்ததால், உண்பதற்குக்கூட அவர்களுக்கு நேரம் கிடைக்கவில்லை.

அவ்வாறே அவர்கள் படகேறிப் பாலை நிலத்தில் உள்ள தனிமையான ஓர் இடத்திற்குச் சென்றார்கள். அவர்கள் புறப்பட்டுப் போவதை மக்கள் பார்த்தார்கள். பலர் அவர்களை இன்னாரென்று தெரிந்துகொண்டு, எல்லா நகர்களிலிருந்தும் கால்நடையாகவே கூட்டமாய் ஓடி, அவர்களுக்கு முன் அங்கு வந்து சேர்ந்தனர்.

அவர் கரையில் இறங்கியபோது பெருந்திரளான மக்களைக் கண்டார். அவர்கள் ஆயரில்லா ஆடுகளைப்போல் இருந்ததால் அவர்கள்மீது பரிவு கொண்டு, அவர்களுக்குப் பலவற்றைக் கற்பித்தார்.

ஆண்டவரின் அருள்வாக்கு.

சகோதரர் சகோதரிகளே,

ஒரு காலத்தில் தொலையில் இருந்த நீங்கள் இப்பொழுது இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவோடு இணைந்து, அவரது இரத்தத்தின் மூலம் அருகில் கொண்டு வரப்பட்டிருக்கிறீர்கள்.

ஏனெனில் அவரே நமக்கு அமைதி அருள்பவர். அவரே இரண்டு இனத்தவரையும் பிரித்து நின்ற பகைமை என்னும் சுவரை, தமது உடலில் ஏற்ற துன்பத்தின் வழியாய்த் தகர்த்தெறிந்து, அவர்களை ஒன்றுபடுத்தினார். பல கட்டளைகளையும் விதிகளையும் கொண்ட யூதச் சட்டத்தை அழித்தார். இரு இனத்தவரையும் தம்மோடு இணைந்திருக்கும் புதியதொரு மனித இனமாகப் படைத்து அமைதி ஏற்படுத்தவே இவ்வாறு செய்தார். தாமே துன்புற்றுப் பகைமையை அழித்தார். சிலுவையின் வழியாக இரு இனத்தவரையும் ஓருடலாக்கிக் கடவுளோடு ஒப்புரவாக்க இப்படிச் செய்தார்.

அவர் வந்து, தொலையில் இருந்த உங்களுக்கும், அருகிலிருந்த அவர்களுக்கும் அமைதியை நற்செய்தியாக அறிவித்தார். அவர் வழியாகவே, இரு இனத்தவராகிய நாம் ஒரே தூய ஆவி மூலம் நம் தந்தையை அணுகும் பேறு பெற்றிருக்கிறோம்.

ஆண்டவர் கூறுவது: என் மேய்ச்சலுக்குட்பட்ட ஆடுகளை அழித்துச் சிதறடிக்கும் மேய்ப்பர்களுக்கு ஐயோ கேடு!

தம் மக்களை வழிநடத்தும் மேய்ப்பர்களுக்கு எதிராக இஸ்ரயேலின் கடவுளாகிய ஆண்டவர் கூறுவது இதுவே: நீங்கள் என் மந்தையைச் சிதறடித்துவிட்டீர்கள்; அதனைத் துரத்தியடித்தீர்கள்; அதனைப் பராமரிக்கவில்லை. இதோ உங்கள் தீச்செயல்களின் காரணமாக உங்களைத் தண்டிக்கப் போகிறேன் என்கிறார் ஆண்டவர்.

என் மந்தையில் எஞ்சியிருக்கும் ஆடுகளை, நான் துரத்தியடித்த அனைத்து நாடுகளிலிருந்தும் கூட்டிச் சேர்த்து அவர்களுக்குரிய ஆட்டுப்பட்டிக்குக் கொண்டுவருவேன். அவையும் பல்கிப் பெருகும். அவற்றைப் பேணிக் காக்க நான் மேய்ப்பர்களை நியமிப்பேன். இனி அவை அச்சமுறா; திகிலுறா; காணாமலும் போகா, என்கிறார் ஆண்டவர்.

ஆண்டவர் கூறுவது: இதோ நாள்கள் வருகின்றன. அப்போது நான் தாவீதுக்கு ஒரு நீதியுள்ள ‘தளிர்’ தோன்றச் செய்வேன். அவர் அரசராய் ஆட்சி செலுத்துவார். அவர் ஞானமுடன் செயல்படுவார். அவர் நாட்டில் நீதியையும் நேர்மையையும் நிலைநாட்டுவார். அவர்தம் நாள்களில் யூதா விடுதலை பெறும்; இஸ்ரயேல் பாதுகாப்புடன் வாழும். ‘யாவே சித்கேனூ’ - ஆண்டவரே நமது நீதி - என்னும் பெயரால் இந்நகர் அழைக்கப்படும்.

A Reading From The Holy Gospel According To Mark (6, 30-34) 

At that time, after their first mission, the Apostles met with Jesus, and told him all that they had done and taught. He said to them, “Come aside into a deserted place, and rest a little. In fact, there were many who arrived and those who left, and there was not even time to eat. So they set off in a boat for a deserted place, out of the way. People saw them walking away, and many understood their intention. So, on foot, from all the towns, they ran there and got there before them. As he disembarked, Jesus saw a large crowd. He had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began to teach them at length. 

            - Let us acclaim the Word of God.

"Christ is our peace: of the two, the Jew and the pagan, he made one reality" 

Reading from the letter of Saint Paul the apostle to the Ephesians (2, 13-18) 

Brethren, now in Christ Jesus, you who once were far off, have come near by the blood of Christ. It is he, Christ, who is our peace: of the two, the Jew and the pagan, he made one reality; with his crucified flesh, he destroyed what separated them, the wall of hatred; he removed the legal prescriptions of the law of Moses. Thus, from the two, the Jew and the pagan, he wanted to create in himself one new Man by making peace, and reconciling with God both in one body by means of the cross; in his person he killed hatred. He came to announce the good news of peace, peace for you who were far away, peace for those who were near. Through him, in fact, both of us have, in one Spirit, access to the Father.

The Lord is my Shepherd:

I lack nothing.

On meadows of fresh grass,

he makes me rest. R 

He leads me to still waters

and brings me back to life;

he leads me by the right path

for the honor of his name. R 

If I cross the ravines of death,

I fear no harm,

for you are with me:

your staff guides me and reassures me. R 

You prepare the table for me

before my enemies;

"I will bring back the rest of my sheep, I will raise up pastors for them" 

A Reading from the book of the prophet Jeremiah (23, 1-6) 

What a misfortune for you, pastors! You let perish and you scatter the sheep of my pasture - oracle of the Lord! Therefore thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel, against the shepherds who lead my people: You have scattered my sheep, you have driven them out, and you have not taken care of them. Well ! I will take care of you, because of the malice of your deeds - oracle of the Lord. Then I will gather the rest of my sheep myself from all the countries where I have driven them. I will bring them back to their enclosure, they will be fruitful and will multiply. I will raise up pastors for them who will lead them; they will no longer be afraid or afraid, and none will be lost - oracle of the Lord; behold, days come - oracle of the Lord, when I will raise up for David a righteous Germ: he will reign as a true king, he will act with understanding, he will exercise righteousness and justice in the land.
