மோசேயின் முகத்தோற்றம் ஒளிமயமாய் இருந்ததைக் கண்டு அவரை அணுகிச் செல்ல அஞ்சினர்.

விடுதலைப் பயண நூலிலிருந்து வாசகம் 34: 29-35

மோசே சீனாய் மலையிலிருந்து இறங்கிச் செல்கையில், உடன்படிக்கைப் பலகைகள் இரண்டையும் தம் கைகளில் தாங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தார். மோசே கடவுளோடு பேசியதால் அவர் முகத்தோற்றம் ஒளிமயமாய் இருந்தது. ஆனால் மோசே அதை அறியவில்லை. ஆரோனும் இஸ்ரயேல் மக்கள் அனைவரும் மோசேயைப் பார்த்தபோது, அவர் முகத்தோற்றம் ஒளிமயமாய் இருந்ததைக் கண்டு அவரை அணுகிச் செல்ல அஞ்சினர். ஆனால் மோசே அவர்களைப் கூப்பிட்டார். ஆரோனும் மக்கள் கூட்டமைப்பின் தலைவர்கள் அனைவரும் அவரை நோக்கி வந்தனர். மோசேயும் அவர்களிடம் பேசினார். பின்னர் இஸ்ரயேல் மக்கள் அனைவரும் அவர் அருகில் வந்தனர். அப்போது, ஆண்டவர் சீனாய் மலையில் தமக்கு அறிவித்த அனைத்தையும் அவர் அவர்களுக்குக் கட்டளையாகக் கொடுத்தார்.

மோசே அவர்களோடு பேசி முடித்தபின், தம் முகத்தின் மேல் ஒரு முக்காடு போட்டுக் கொண்டார். மோசே ஆண்டவரோடு உரையாடும்படி அவர் திருமுன் செல்வதுமுதல் வெளியே வருவதுவரை முக்காட்டை எடுத்து விடுவார். அங்கிருந்து வெளியே வந்து, அவருக்குக் கட்டளையிடப் பட்டவற்றை அவர் இஸ்ரயேல் மக்களுக்கு எடுத்துக் கூறுவார். இஸ்ரயேல் மக்கள் மோசேயின் முகத்தைப் பார்க்கும்போது, மோசேயின் முகத்தோற்றம் ஒளிமயமாய் இருக்கும். மோசே ஆண்டவரோடு பேசச் செல்லும்வரை தம் முகத்தின் மேல் மீண்டும் முக்காடு போட்டுக் கொள்வார்.

"They saw Moses arrive: his face shone, and they did not dare to approach" 

Reading the Book of Exodus 34, 29-35 

When Moses came down from Mount Sinai,

having the two tables of the Testimony in his hands,

he did not know that his face had shone with light

since he had spoken with the Lord.

    Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses arrive;

his face shone.

    As they did not dare to approach, Moses called them.

Aaron and all the leaders of the community then came to him,

and he spoke to them.

    Then all the children of Israel drew near,

and he imparted to them all the commands the Lord had given him

on Mount Sinai.

    When he was done talking to them,

he put a veil over his face.

    And when he came before the Lord

to speak with him,

he took off his veil

until he came out.

So he conveyed to the sons of Israel

the orders he had received,

    and the sons of Israel saw his face shine.

Then he would put the veil back on his face

until he came home to speak with the Lord.

அக்காலத்தில்

இயேசு மக்கள் கூட்டத்தினரை அனுப்பிவிட்டு வீட்டுக்குள் வந்தார். அப்போது அவருடைய சீடர்கள் அவரருகே வந்து, “வயலில் தோன்றிய களைகள் பற்றிய உவமையை எங்களுக்கு விளக்கிக் கூறும்” என்றனர். அதற்கு அவர் பின்வருமாறு கூறினார்:

“நல்ல விதைகளை விதைப்பவர் மானிட மகன்; வயல், இவ்வுலகம்; நல்ல விதைகள், கடவுளின் ஆட்சிக்குட்பட்ட மக்கள்; களைகள், தீயோனைச் சேர்ந்தவர்கள்; அவற்றை விதைக்கும் பகைவன், அலகை; அறுவடை, உலகின் முடிவு; அறுவடை செய்வோர், வானதூதர்.

எவ்வாறு களைகளைப் பறித்துத் தீக்கிரையாக்குவார்களோ அவ்வாறே உலக முடிவிலும் நடக்கும். மானிட மகன் தம் வானதூதரை அனுப்புவார். அவர்கள் அவருடைய ஆட்சிக்குத் தடையாக உள்ள அனைவரையும் நெறி கெட்டோரையும் ஒன்றுசேர்ப்பார்கள்; பின் அவர்களைத் தீச்சூளையில் தள்ளுவார்கள். அங்கே அழுகையும் அங்கலாய்ப்பும் இருக்கும். அப்போது நேர்மையாளர் தம் தந்தையின் ஆட்சியில் கதிரவனைப் போல் ஒளி வீசுவர். கேட்கச் செவியுள்ளோர் கேட்கட்டும்.”

ஆண்டவரின் செயல்கள் நீதியானவை; ஒடுக்கப்பட்டோர் அனைவருக்கும் அவர் உரிமைகளை வழங்குகின்றார்.

அவர் தம் வழிகளை மோசேக்கு வெளிப்படுத்தினார்; அவர் தம் செயல்களை இஸ்ரயேல் மக்கள் காணும்படி செய்தார். - பல்லவி

அந்நாள்களில்

மோசே பாளையத்துக்கு வெளியே கூடாரத்தைத் தூக்கிச் செல்வதும் பாளையத்திற்கு வெகு தூரத்தில் கூடாரம் அடிப்பதும் வழக்கம். அதற்கு அவர் சந்திப்புக் கூடாரம் என்று பெயரிட்டார். ஆண்டவரைத் தேடும் யாவரும் பாளையத்துக்கு வெளியே உள்ள சந்திப்புக் கூடாரத்திற்குச் செல்வர்.

மோசே கூடாரத்துக்குச் செல்லும் போதெல்லாம் மக்கள் அனைவரும் அவரவர் கூடார நுழைவாயிலில் எழுந்து நின்று கொண்டு, அவர் கூடாரத்தில் நுழையும்வரை அவரைப் பார்த்துக் கொண்டேயிருப்பர். மோசே கூடாரத்தில் நுழைந்ததும், மேகத்தூண் இறங்கி வந்து கூடார நுழைவாயிலில் நின்று கொள்ளும். அப்போது கடவுள் மோசேயிடம் பேசுவார். கூடார நுழைவாயிலில் மேகத்தூண் நின்று கொண்டிருப்பதை மக்கள் அனைவரும் காண்பர். அப்போது அவரவர் கூடார நுழைவாயிலில் நின்று கொண்டே மக்கள் அனைவரும் வணங்கித் தொழுவர். ஒருவன் தன் நண்பனிடம் பேசுவது போலவே ஆண்டவரும் முகமுகமாய் மோசேயிடம் பேசுவார். பின்னர் மோசே பாளையத்துக்குத் திரும்புவார். இளைஞனும் நூனின் மகனுமான யோசுவா என்ற அவருடைய உதவியாளர் கூடாரத்தை விட்டு அகலாமல் இருப்பார்.

ஆண்டவர் மேகத்தில் இறங்கி வந்து, அங்கே அவர் பக்கமாய் நின்று கொண்டு, ‘ஆண்டவர்’ என்ற பெயரை அறிவித்தார். அப்போது ஆண்டவர் அவர் முன்னிலையில் கடந்து செல்கையில், “ஆண்டவர்! ஆண்டவர்! இரக்கமும் பரிவும் உள்ள இறைவன்; சினம் கொள்ளத் தயங்குபவர்; பேரன்பு மிக்கவர்; நம்பிக்கைக்கு உரியவர். ஆயிரம் தலைமுறைக்கும் பேரன்பு செய்பவர்; கொடுமையையும் குற்றத்தையும் பாவத்தையும் மன்னிப்பவர்; ஆயினும், தண்டனைக்குத் தப்பவிடாமல் தந்தையரின் கொடுமையைப் பிள்ளைகள் மேலும் பிள்ளைகளின் பிள்ளைகள் மேலும், மூன்றாம் நான்காம் தலைமுறைவரை தண்டித்துத் தீர்ப்பவர்” என அறிவித்தார். உடனே மோசே விரைந்து தரைமட்டும் தாழ்ந்து வணங்கி, “என் தலைவரே! நான் உண்மையிலேயே உம் பார்வையில் தயை பெற்றவன் என்றால், இவர்கள் வணங்காக் கழுத்துள்ள மக்கள் எனினும், என் தலைவரே! நீர் எங்களோடு வந்தருளும். எங்கள் கொடுமையையும் எங்கள் பாவத்தையும் மன்னித்து எங்களை உம் உரிமைச் சொத்தாக்கிக் கொள்ளும்” என்றார்.

அவர் அங்கே நாற்பது பகலும் நாற்பது இரவும் ஆண்டவருடன் இருந்தார். அப்போது அவர் அப்பம் உண்ணவும் இல்லை; தண்ணீர் பருகவும் இல்லை. உடன்படிக்கையின் வார்த்தைகளான பத்துக் கட்டளைகளை அவர் பலகைகளின் மேல் எழுதினார்.

At that time,

    leaving the crowds, Jesus came to the house.

His disciples came up to him and said to him,

“Explain to us clearly

the parable of the weeds in the field. "

    He answered them:

" He who sows the good seed is the Son of man;

    the field is the world;

the good seed are the children of the Kingdom;

the tares are the sons of the Evil One.

    The enemy who sowed it is the devil;

the harvest is the end of the world;

the reapers are the angels.

    Just as we remove the tares

and throw them in the fire,

so it will be at the end of the world.

    The Son of man will send his angels,

and they will remove from his Kingdom

all causes of stumble

and those who do evil;

    they will throw them into the furnace:

there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

    Then the righteous will shine like the sun

in their Father's kingdom.

The Lord does a work of justice,

He reveals his designs to Moses,

slow to anger and full of love;

he is not forever on trial,

does not endlessly maintain his reproaches. 

He does not deal with us according to our faults,

does not repay us according to our trespasses.

As the sky dominates the earth,

strong is his love for those who fear him. 

As far as the east is from the west,

he puts our sins far from us;

like the tenderness of the father for his sons,

the tenderness of the Lord for those who fear him!

FIRST READING 

“The Lord spoke with Moses face to face” 

Reading the Book of Exodus 33, 7-11; 34, 5b-9.28 

In those days,

at each stage, during the walk in the desert,

    Moses would take the Tent and pitch it outside the camp,

at a good distance.

It was called the Tent of Meeting,

and whoever wanted to consult the Lord

had to go outside the camp to reach the Tent of Meeting.

    When Moses went out to go to the Tent,

all the people stood up.

Everyone stood at the entrance to their tent

and followed Moses with their eyes until he entered.

    As Moses entered the Tent,

the pillar of cloud descended,

stood at the entrance of the Tent,

and God was speaking with Moses.

    All the people saw the pillar of cloud

who stood at the entrance of the Tent,

all rose and bowed,

each in front of his tent.

    The Lord spoke with Moses face to face,

as one speaks from man to man.

Then Moses returned to the camp,

but his helper, the young Joshua, son of Nun,

did not leave the interior of the Tent. 

    The Lord himself proclaimed his name

which is: THE LORD.

    He walked past Moses and proclaimed:

“THE LORD, THE LORD, a

tender and merciful God,

slow to anger, full of love and truth,

    who keeps his faithfulness to the thousandth generation,

endures fault, transgression and sin,

but let nothing pass,

for he punishes the fault of the fathers on the sons and the grandsons,

until the third and the fourth generation. "

    Immediately Moses bowed to the ground and worshiped.

   He said:

“If it is true, my Lord, that I have found favor in your eyes,

deign to walk among us.

Yes, they are a people with a stiff neck;

but you will forgive our sins and our sins,

and you will make us your inheritance. "

    Moses was on Mount Sinai with the Lord

forty days and forty nights;

he neither ate bread nor drank water.

On the stone tablets

he wrote the words of the Covenant, the Ten Words. 

      - Word of the Lord.
