"Why is this generation looking for a sign? " 

A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to Mark (8, 11-13) 

At that time the Pharisees came and began to argue with Jesus; to put him to the test, they sought to obtain from him a sign from heaven. Jesus sighed deeply and said, “Why is this generation looking for a sign? Amen, I tell you, no sign will be given to this generation. Then he left them, got back into the boat, and set off for the other side.
