"He of you who is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at him"
A Reading From The Holy Gospel According To John (8, 1-11)
At that time Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. At dawn, he returned to the Temple. As all the people came to him, he sat down and began to teach. The scribes and the Pharisees brought him a woman who had been caught in a situation of adultery. They put her in the middle, and say to Jesus: “Master, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. Now, in the Law, Moses commanded us to stone these women. And you, what are you saying? They spoke thus to test him, so that they could accuse him. But Jesus stooped down and was writing on the ground with his finger. As they continued to question him, he straightened up and said to them, "Whoever among you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at him." He bent down again and wrote on the ground. They, after hearing this, went away one by one, starting with the older ones. Jesus was left alone with the woman still there in the middle. He straightened up and asked her, "Woman, where are they?" Nobody condemned you? She replied, "No one, Lord. "And Jesus said to him:" I do not condemn you either. Go and sin no more. "
