SECOND READING
"He humbled himself: this is why God exalted him"
from the letter of Saint Paul the apostle to the Philippians (2, 6-11)
Christ Jesus, having the condition of God, did not jealously retain the rank which equaled him to God; but he was annihilated, assuming the condition of a servant, becoming like men. Recognized as a man by his appearance, he humbled himself, becoming obedient unto death, and the death of the cross. This is why God exalted him: he endowed him with the Name which is above all names, so that in the name of Jesus every knee will bow in heaven, on earth and in hell, and that every tongue proclaims : “Jesus Christ is Lord” to the glory of God the Father.
The Word of the Lord.

🌿Gospel Acclamation
He humbled himself by obeying death to the point of accepting death on the cross. So God exalted him greatly, and gave him the name that is above every name.
