Hear me, distant islands! Distant peoples, be attentive! I was still in the womb when the Lord called me; I was still in my mother's womb when he spoke my name. He made my mouth a sharp sword, he protected me with the shadow of his hand; he made me a sharp arrow, he hid me in his quiver. He said to me: “You are my servant, Israel, in you I will manifest my splendor. "And I said:" I got tired for nothing, it was for nothing, it was in vain that I used up my strength. And yet my right was with the Lord, my reward with my God. Now the Lord is speaking, he who fashioned me from my mother's womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob back to him, to gather Israel to him. Yes, I have value in the eyes of the Lord, it is my God who is my strength.
