📖GOSPEL
"Work not for the food that is wasted, but for the food that remains into eternal life"
A Reading From The Holy Gospel According To John (6, 22-29)
Jesus had satisfied five thousand men, and his disciples had seen him walking on the sea. The next day, the crowd on the other side realized that there had been only one boat there, and that Jesus had not gone up there with his disciples, who had left without him. However, other boats, coming from Tiberias, had arrived near the place where the bread had been eaten after the Lord had given thanks.
When the crowd saw that Jesus was not there, nor his disciples, the people got into the boats and went to Capernaum in search of Jesus. Finding him on the other side, they said to him, “Rabbi, when did you get here? Jesus answered them, "Amen, amen, I say to you: you are looking for me, not because you have seen signs, but because you have eaten of these loaves and have been satisfied. Work not for the food that is wasted, but for the food that remains until eternal life, that which the Son of Man will give you, whom God the Father has marked with his seal. They said to him, "What must we do to work on the works of God?" Jesus answered them, "The work of God is that you believe on him whom he sent. "
