FIRST READING
"Convert, and let each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ"
Reading from the book of Acts of the Apostles (2, 36-41)
On the day of Pentecost, Peter said to the crowd, “Let all the house of Israel therefore know with certainty: God made him Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified. The listeners were touched to the heart; they said to Peter and the other Apostles: “Brothers, what should we do? Peter answered them, "Convert yourselves, and each one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; then you will receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is for you, for your children, and for all who are far away, as many as the Lord our God calls them. "By many other words still, Peter adjured and exhorted them, saying:" Turn away from this tortuous generation, and you will be saved. "
Alors, ceux qui avaient accueilli la parole de Pierre furent baptisés. Ce jour-là, environ trois mille personnes se joignirent à eux.
The Word of the Lord.
