Our help is in the name of the Lord.

Without the Lord who was for us

- may Israel say it again -

without the Lord who was for us

when men assailed us,

then they swallowed us alive,

in the fire of their anger. R 

Then the flood passed over us,

the torrent overwhelmed us;

then we were overwhelmed

by the raging waves.

Blessed be the Lord

who did not make us the prey of their teeth! R 

Like a bird, we escaped

the hunter's net;

the net was broken:

we escaped.

Our help is in the name of the Lord

who made heaven and earth. R
