“My daughter died instantly; but come, and she will live ”
A Reading From The Holy Gospel According To Matthew (9, 18-26)
At that time, while Jesus was speaking to the disciples of John the Baptist, a notable approached. He bowed down to him saying: “My daughter is dead instantly; but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live. Jesus got up and followed him and his disciples.
And behold, a woman who had been bleeding for twelve years approached from behind and touched the fringe of her garment. Because she said to herself: "If I can only touch her garment, I will be saved." Jesus turned around and, seeing her, said to her: "Trust, my daughter! Your faith has saved you. And at that very hour the woman was saved.
Jesus, arrived at the house of the notable, saw the flute players and the crowd which was agitated noisily. He then said, “Withdraw. The young girl is not dead: she is sleeping. But we laughed at him. When the crowd was out, he came in, grabbed her hand, and the girl stood up. And the news spread throughout the region.
