GOSPEL
“He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her” (Jn 8:1-11)
Your word, Lord, is truth, and your law is deliverance. I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, says the Lord. Let him turn from his ways and live! Your word, Lord, is truth, and your law is deliverance. (cf. Ez 33:11)
Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John

( 2024: year B )
At that time,
Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.
At dawn, he returned to the Temple.
As all the people came to him,
he sat down and began to teach.
The scribes and Pharisees brought him a woman
who had been caught in adultery.
They put her in the middle,
and said to Jesus:
“Master, this woman
has been caught in the act of adultery.
Now, in the Law, Moses ordered us
to stone these women.
And you, what do you say? »
They spoke thus to put him to the test,
in order to be able to accuse him.
But Jesus stooped down
and wrote on the earth with his finger.
When they continued to question him,
he stood up and said to them:
“He who is without sin among you,
let him be the first to throw a stone at her. »
He stooped down again
and wrote on the earth.
They, after hearing this,
left one by one,
starting with the oldest.
Jesus remained alone with the woman still there in the middle.
He stood up and asked her:
“Woman, where are they?”
Nobody condemned you? »
She replied:
“No one, Lord. »
And Jesus said to him:
“Neither do I condemn you.
Go and sin no more. »
