“It is not Moses, it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven” (Jn 6:30-35)

I am the bread of life, says the Lord,
whoever comes to me will never hunger.

At that time
the crowd said to Jesus,
“What sign will you perform
that we may see and believe you?”
What work are you going to do?
In the desert our fathers ate manna;
as the Scripture says:
He gave them bread from heaven to eat . »
Jesus answered them:
“Amen, amen, I say to you:
it was not Moses
who gave you the bread from heaven;
it is my Father
who gives you the true bread from heaven.
For the bread of God
is that which comes down from heaven
and gives life to the world. »
They said to him:
“Lord, give us this bread always. »
Jesus answered them:
“I am the bread of life.
He who comes to me will never be hungry;
whoever believes in me will never thirst. »
– Let us acclaim the Word of God.
