*🕯A Reading from the Holy Gospel accoding to Matthew 9:35-37, 10:1, 6-8* 

```Jesus made a tour through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and curing all kinds of disease and all kinds of illness. And when he saw the crowds he felt sorry for them because they were harassed and dejected, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, 'The harvest is rich but the labourers are few, so ask the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers to his harvest.' He summoned his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits with power to drive them out and to cure all kinds of disease and all kinds of illness. go instead to the lost sheep of the House of Israel. And as you go, proclaim that the kingdom of Heaven is close at hand.

Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those suffering from virulent skin-diseases, drive out devils. You received without charge, give without charge.```

```Yes, people of Zion living in Jerusalem, you will weep no more. He will be gracious to you when your cry for help rings out; as soon as he hears it, he will answer you. When the Lord has given you the bread of suffering and the water of distress, he who is your teacher will hide no longer, and you will see your teacher with your own eyes. Your ears will hear these words behind you, 'This is the way, keep to it,' whether you turn to right or left. He will send rain for the seed you sow in the ground, and the bread that the ground provides will be rich and nourishing. That day, your cattle will graze in wide pastures. Oxen and donkeys that work the land will eat for fodder wild sorrel, spread by the shovel-load and fork-load. On every lofty mountain, on every high hill there will be streams and water-courses, on the day of the great slaughter when the strongholds fall. அக்காலத்தில் இயேசு நகர்கள், சிற்றூர்கள் எல்லாம் சுற்றிவந்தார். எங்கும் அவர்களுடைய தொழுகைக்கூடங்களில் கற்பித்தார்; விண்ணரசைப் பற்றிய நற்செய்தியைப் பறைசாற்றினார்; நோய் நொடிகள் அனைத்தையும் குணமாக்கினார். திரண்டிருந்த மக்களை அவர் கண்டபோது அவர்கள் மேல் பரிவு கொண்டார்; அவர்கள் ஆயர் இல்லா ஆடுகளைப்போல அலைக்கழிக்கப்பட்டு சோர்ந்து காணப்பட்டார்கள். அப்பொழுது அவர் தம் சீடரை நோக்கி, அறுவடை மிகுதி; வேலையாள்களோ குறைவு. ஆகையால் தேவையான வேலையாள்களைத் தமது அறுவடைக்கு அனுப்பும்படி அறுவடையின் உரிமையாளரிடம் மன்றாடுங்கள்'' என்றார். இயேசு தம் சீடர் பன்னிருவரையும் தம்மிடம் வரவழைத்தார். தீய ஆவிகளை ஓட்டவும், நோய் நொடிகளைக் குணமாக்கவும் அவர்களுக்கு அதிகாரம் அளித்தார். இயேசு பன்னிருவருக்கும் அறிவுரையாகக் கூறியது: "வழி தவறிப்போன ஆடுகளான இஸ்ரயேல் மக்களிடமே செல்லுங்கள். அப்படிச் செல்லும்போது `விண்ணரசு நெருங்கி வந்துவிட்டது' எனப் பறைசாற்றுங்கள். நலம் குன்றியவர்களைக் குணமாக்குங்கள்; இறந்தோரை உயிர் பெற்றெழச் செய்யுங்கள்; தொழுநோயாளரை நலமாக்குங்கள்; பேய்களை ஓட்டுங்கள்; கொடையாகப் பெற்றீர்கள்; கொடையாகவே வழங்குங்கள்."

1 நம்முடைய கடவுளைப் புகழ்ந்து பாடுவது நல்லது;

அவரைப் புகழ்வது இனிமையானது; அதுவே ஏற்புடையது.

2 ஆண்டவர் எருசலேமை மீண்டும் கட்டி எழுப்புகின்றார்;

As Jesus went on his way two blind men followed him shouting, ‘Take pity on us, Son of David.’ And when Jesus reached the house the blind men came up with him and he said to them, ‘Do you believe I can do this?’ They said, ‘Sir, we do.’ Then he touched their eyes saying, ‘Your faith deserves it, so let this be done for you.’ And their sight returned. Then Jesus sternly warned them, ‘Take care that no one learns about this.’ But when they had gone, they talked about him all over the countryside.

The oppressed will rejoice in the Lord again 

*A Reading from the Book of Isaiah 29:17-24.*

The Lord says this:

In a short time, a very short time,

shall not Lebanon become fertile land

and fertile land turn into forest?

The deaf, that day,

will hear the words of a book

and, after shadow and darkness,

the eyes of the blind will see.

But the lowly will rejoice in the Lord even more

and the poorest exult in the Holy One of Israel;

for tyrants shall be no more, and scoffers vanish,

and all be destroyed who are disposed to do evil:

those who gossip to incriminate others,

those who try at the gate to trip the arbitrator

and get the upright man’s case dismissed for groundless reasons.

Therefore the Lord speaks,

the God of the House of Jacob,

Abraham’s redeemer:

No longer shall Jacob be ashamed,

no more shall his face grow pale,

for he shall see what my hands have done in his midst,

he shall hold my name holy.

They will hallow the Holy One of Jacob,

stand in awe of the God of Israel.

Erring spirits will learn wisdom

and murmurers accept instruction.

அக்காலத்தில் இயேசு தம் சொந்த ஊரை விட்டு வெளியே சென்றபோது பார்வையற்றோர் இருவர், தாவீதின் மகனே, எங்களுக்கு இரங்கும்'' என்று கத்திக்கொண்டே அவரைப் பின்தொடர்ந்தனர். அவர் வீடு வந்து சேர்ந்ததும் அந்தப் பார்வையற்றோரும் அவரிடம் வந்தனர். இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து, நான் இதைச் செய்ய முடியும் என நம்புகிறீர்களா?'' என்று கேட்டார். அதற்கு அவர்கள், ஆம், ஐயா'' என்றார்கள். பின்பு அவர் அவர்களின் கண்களைத் தொட்டு, நீங்கள் நம்பியபடியே உங்களுக்கு நிகழட்டும்'' என்றார். உடனே அவர்களின் கண்கள் திறந்தன. இயேசு அவர்களை நோக்கி, யாரும் இதை அறியாதபடி பார்த்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள்'' என்று மிகக் கண்டிப்பாகக் கூறினார். ஆனால் அவர்கள் வெளியே போய் நாடெங்கும் அவரைப் பற்றிய செய்தியைப் பரப்பினார்கள்.
