FIRST READING
"God fulfilled the promise fully by resurrecting Jesus"
A Reading from the book of Acts of the Apostles (13, 26-33)
In those days Paul came to Antioch in Pisidia. In the synagogue he said: “You, brethren, the sons of the line of Abraham and those among you who fear God, to us the word of salvation has been sent. For the inhabitants of Jerusalem and their rulers disregarded Jesus, and the words of the prophets which are read every Sabbath; now, by judging him, they have fulfilled them. Without finding in him any reason for the death sentence, they asked Pilate to have him removed. And, after fulfilling all that was written about him, they took him down from the wood of the cross and laid him in the tomb. But God raised him from the dead. He appeared many days to those who had gone up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, and who are now his witnesses before the people. And U.S, we announce this Good News to you: the promise made to our fathers, God fully fulfilled it for us, their children, by resuscitating Jesus, as it is written in psalm two: You are my son; I, today, begotten you. "
