FIRST READING
"What I have, I give to you: in the name of Jesus, arise and walk"
Reading from the book of Acts of the Apostles (3, 1-10)
In those days Peter and John went up to the Temple for the afternoon prayer at the ninth hour. A man was then brought there, crippled from birth, who was installed every day at the door of the Temple, called the "Belle-Porte", to ask for alms to those who entered. Seeing Peter and John who were about to enter the Temple, he asked them for alms. Then Peter, like John, fixed his eyes on him, and he said: “Look at us! The man was watching them, expecting to receive something from them. Peter said: “I have none of silver and gold; but what I have I give you: in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, arise and walk. Then, taking him by the right hand, he lifted him up, and instantly his feet and ankles firmed up. With a bound, he was on his feet and he was walking. Entering the Temple with them, he walked, leaped, and praised God. And all the people saw him walk and praise God. We recognized him: it was he who was sitting at the “Belle-Porte” of the Temple to ask for alms. And people were amazed and bewildered at what had happened to him.
The Word of the Lord.
