FIRST READING
"I will put a hostility between your descendants and the descendants of the woman"
A Reading from the book of Genesis (3, 9-15. 20)
When Adam had eaten of the fruit of the tree, the Lord God called him and said to him: "Where are you then?" The man replied: "I heard your voice in the garden, I got scared because I was naked, and I hid myself. "The Lord continued:" Who told you that you were naked? Would you have eaten from the tree that I had forbidden you to eat? The man replied, "The woman you gave me, she gave me the fruit of the tree, and I ate it." "The Lord God said to the woman," What did you do there? The woman replied, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate." "Then the Lord God said to the serpent," Because you have done this, you will be cursed among all the animals and all the beasts of the field. You will crawl on your stomach and eat dust every day of your life. I will put a hostility between you and the woman, between your offspring and his offspring: the latter will bruise your head, and you will bruise his heel. The man called his wife Eve (that is, the living one), because she was the mother of all living.

Reading of the book of Acts of the Apostles
The Apostles, after seeing Jesus going to heaven,
returned to Jerusalem
from the place called "Mount of Olives" which is near it
- the walking distance does not exceed what is permitted on the Sabbath day.
When they arrived, they went up to the upper room
where they usually stayed;
it was Pierre, Jean, Jacques and André,
Philippe and Thomas,
Barthélemy and Matthieu,
Jacques son of Alphée, Simon the Zealot, and Jude son of Jacques.
All, with the same heart, were assiduous in prayer,
with women, with Mary the mother of Jesus,
and with her brothers.
