📖GOSPEL
“Be the shepherd of my lambs. Be the shepherd of my sheep ”
A Reading From The Holy Gospel According To John (21, 15-19)
Jesus again manifested himself to the disciples on the shore of the Sea of Tiberias. When they had eaten, Jesus said to Simon Peter: “Simon, son of John, do you really love me, more than these? "He replied:" Yes, Lord! You know it: I love you. "Jesus said to him:" Be the shepherd of my lambs. "He said to her a second time:" Simon, son of John, do you really love me? "He replied:" Yes, Lord! You know it: I love you. "Jesus said to him:" Be the shepherd of my sheep. "He said to her for the third time:" Simon, son of John, do you love me? Peter was saddened because the third time Jesus asked him: 'Do you love me? "He replied:" Lord, you know everything: you know very well that I love you. "Jesus said to him:" Be the shepherd of my sheep. Amen, amen, I tell you: when you were young, you put on your belt yourself to go where you wanted; when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will put your belt on, to take you where you would not want to go. Jesus said this to signify by what kind of death Peter would give glory to God. With these words, he said to her: “Follow me. "
