R/ Your words, Lord, are spirit

and they are life. (cf. Jn 6:63c)

The law of the Lord is perfect,

reviving;

the testimony of the Lord is sure,

making wise the simple.

The precepts of the Lord are right,

rejoicing the heart;

the commandment of the Lord is clear,

enlightening the eyes.

The fear he inspires is pure,

it is there forever;

the decisions of the Lord are just

and truly equitable.

Accept the words of my mouth,

the murmurings of my heart;

let them come before you,

Lord, my rock, my defender!
