“The days will come when the Bridegroom will be taken away from them; then they will fast ” 

A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew (9, 14-15) 

At that time, the disciples of John the Baptist approached Jesus saying, “Why, while we and the Pharisees fast, do not your disciples fast? Jesus answered them, "Could the wedding guests then mourn while the Bridegroom is with them?" But the days will come when the Bridegroom will be taken from them; then they will fast. "
