"Me, I was like a docile lamb that is taken to the slaughterhouse" 

Reading from the book of the prophet Jeremiah (11, 18-20) 

“Lord, you let me know, and now I know, you let me see their maneuvers. I was like a docile lamb taken to the slaughterhouse, and I didn't know they were setting up a plot against me. They said, "Let us cut down the tree at the root, cut it off from the land of the living, that even its name may be forgotten." Lord of the universe, you who judge with justice, who scrutinize the kidneys and the hearts, show me the revenge that you will inflict on them, for it is to you that I have committed my case. "
