"Here is the virgin will conceive" 

Reading from the book of the prophet Isaiah (7, 10-14; 8, 10) 

In those days, the Lord spoke thus to king Acaz: “Ask for a sign for you from the Lord your God, in the depths of Hades or on the heights above. Acaz replied: "No, I will not ask, I will not put the Lord to the test. "Isaiah then said:" Listen, house of David! So it is not enough for you to tire men: you must still tire my God! Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin is with child, she will give birth to a son, whom she will call Immanuel, for God is with us. "
