SECOND READING
"What you have in abundance will meet the needs of the poor brothers"
Reading from the second letter of Saint Paul the apostle to the Corinthians (8, 7.9.13-15)
Brothers, since you have everything in abundance, faith, the Word, the knowledge of God, all kind of eagerness and the love that comes to you from us, may there also be abundance in your generous gift! You know in fact the generous gift of our Lord Jesus Christ: he who is rich, he became poor because of you, so that you might become rich through his poverty. It's not about embarrassing yourself by relieving others, it's about equality. In the present circumstance, what you have in abundance will meet their needs, so that, conversely, what they have in abundance can meet your needs, and this will make equality, as the Scripture says about manna: The one who gathered a lot got nothing too much, the one who gathered a little lacked nothing.
