Reading of the Song of Songs (3, 1-4a) 

Words of the beloved. On my bed at night I searched for the one my soul desires; I looked for it; I have not found him; yes, I will get up, I will turn around the city, through the streets and squares: I will seek whomever my soul desires; I looked for it; I did not find him. They found me, the guards, they who turn in the city: "The one that my soul desires, have you seen him?" No sooner had I passed them than I found the one my soul desires: I grabbed him and will not let go.

"We no longer understand Christ in a simply human way" 

Reading of the second letter of Saint Paul the apostle to the Corinthians 5, 14-17. 

Brothers,

the love of Christ seizes us

when we think that one has died for all,

and that therefore all have passed through death.

For Christ died for all,

so that the living no longer have their lives centered on themselves,

but on him, who died and rose for them.

From now on we no longer look at anyone

in a simply human way:

if we have known Christ in this way,

now we no longer know him in this way .

So if anyone is in Christ,

he is a new creation.

The old world is gone,

a new world has already been born.
